Runway Eyes

Lily Donaldson at Gucci

Emulating looks you see in magazines is a great way to experiment and find your personal style. I remember I would tear out pages like this one and keep it handy to try out for a special occasion that called for something with a little more drama.

The key to creating a rich eye shadow look like the one shown, is layering. You'll see I began with a cream eye base, then a powder shadow , followed by Laura Mercier's Caviar Eye Liner used on the lid, topped by more powder shadow. By using cream, then powder, then cream, it creates a look that is rich and textured with more staying power than just powder alone.
