Eye Makeup Application; Eyes Without a Traditional Crease
One of the most asked questions by far is about eye makeup application for eyes that don't have the indention of a crease. Most women I see have some variation of eye that resembles Cate's, leading to questions on how to best apply eye makeup since it either looks different once their eyes are open vs. when closed applying shadow, or it doesn't seem to show up at all.
Here are a few tips on how to best maximize eyes with a more pronounced lid.
Before.
Using a cream shadow resistant to creasing, gently lift the lid making sure an even application goes from the base of the lash-line to just above where the crease would be. Aim for a color wash effect by blending the color upward so the color is darker at the lash and gradually fades lighter where the color ends. It's essential to manipulate the lid a bit to make sure the color is distributed evenly.
Use either a waterproof gel, cake, or a wet shadow for your liner to combat creasing. Use a flat brush to press and wiggle the color all the way across the eye, then follow the line back making it thicker. Since parts of the lid aren't completely visible, a thicker line is necessary in order to really bring the color forward.
Tight line the eye to add more contrast. Personally, I don't line the lower lash line for this eye shape because I feel it makes the eye smaller and over-done.

If you're experiencing dullness in your eye area, add a small amount of highlighter along with your eye concealer to add brightness and life, a great solution for tired eyes.

Add a little lip and cheek and there you have it.
