Always the makeup lover, Carissa chose to capitalize on her self-taught makeup artistry skills by starting her own company, Carissa Beauty (link out to site http://carissabeauty.com) and this very blog after she got her broadcasting degree and worked a few valuable yet miserable sales jobs that left her longing for a more creative life. As fate would have it, the decision turned out to be a fantastically life changing one.

HookedOnBeauty.com has become one of the most popular sites for researching beauty products and finding tips for making your beauty routine easier. It has also brought her some exciting career highs like doing makeup for celebs, covering New York’s Fashion Week backstage, meeting the creative minds behind the biggest beauty companies in the world, (finally) using her broadcast degree as a regular TV Beauty Expert, and most recently becoming the Beauty Expert for Walmart.com. It’s a fun ride that isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

Carissa lives in Colorado with her marathon-running husband Mike who, together, spend most of their time spoiling their two perfect, yet completely naughty dogs, Frisco and Meatball.
